The hornworks were founded in 1749 and so Abbeyhorn is truly a heritage collection with more than two centuries of knowledge and skill to draw on. The range is a fabulous mix of captivating yet functional pieces which are produced by skilled artisans using traditional methods. The homewares are designed to be used, not simply admired and are fashioned from ethically sourced sustainable materials which are biodegradable or recyclable.

These honest, quiet and simple designs are crafted from cow horn, deer antlers, buffalo horn and Ram horn, each one sourced ethically from renewable resources. These wondrous natural materials are naturally shed or the by-products of the meat industry with each example being unique. With Abbeyhorn products no two pieces are ever the same!

Our Abbeyhorn range features a selection of utensils and accessories which are practical yet artistic pieces which look great but which can be used every day. Our cheese knife, honey dipper, cruet set and spoons are all striking pieces which would grace any table and which will always be talking points and a source of fascination. These stunning yet affordable pieces make fabulous and original gifts and can form a striking collection for your home.

Natural products deserve the appropriate care to keep them at their best. Horn should be washed by hand in cool water using mild detergent. Rub pieces gently with a soft cloth and then towel dry immediately. Never leave items to soak in water and do not place them in a dishwasher or microwave. Avoid the use of chemicals or abrasive materials and keep the pieces clear of sharp objects. Horn benefits from a little extra care from time to time. Simply wipe your pieces with vegetable oil in the direction of the grain and then buff with a lint-free cloth.

Please note that your beautiful horn homewares should not be left in direct sunlight or under bright lights. The natural horn is prone to swell if exposed to damp conditions and is sensitive to extreme changes of temperature. If stored and cared for correctly these wonderful pieces will retain their natural beauty and serve you well for a lifetime.
