At the Old Byre we stock a cosy selection of traditional men's handknitted Aran jumpers and sweaters. These jumpers are from our own Old Byre Showroom label, with each having been hand-knitted in Scotland. Traditionally a fishermans jumper, the Aran jumper was made to be a versatile garment and protect its wearer against the elements and that's exactly why they are still so popular to this day.
Knitted using 100% pure and un-dyed Aran weight wool, our handmade Aran jumpers for men are available in a number of natural hues. Each features traditional aspects that you might expect to see on an Aran jumper, with knitting patterns incorporating symbols of ropes, cables and nets as a nod toward the profession of the fishermen.
Our traditional Aran jumpers for men are available in sizes 34 chest to 50 chest. Whilst we have a good stock of men's Aran jumpers available immediately, it is possible for us to take special orders for hand-knitted Aran jumpers also. Simply contact us on +441770840227 between 10:00 17:00 and provide us with your colour choice, chest measurement and the desired length from neck to hem as well as the length of the sleeve from underarm to cuff. When you place your order a 50% deposit will be required.
As well as hand-knitted Aran jumpers, we also stock a fantastic range of machine-knitted Aran jumpers for men. These are an excellent choice, being not only great value for money, but equally warm and cosy too. Each of the contemporary machine-knitted jumpers here has been made out of 100% British wool. Of course, as with most woollen items, you should hand-wash or dry clean Aran jumpers, so as to best preserve the structure and benefits of the materials.
